Our shared values
To create a truly sustainable business we believe that each and every part of our supply chain must operate efficiently and profitably, always producing top quality products or services, and with a happy, fulfilled and permanent workforce. That’s why we’ve invested in long term relationships, improvements and projects right from the smallest organic tea growers through to our own factory in Sri Lanka and our team in London.
Our green journey
Transparency is one of our core values at Joe’s Tea so we’ve created this page to openly document our green journey. Follow us as we interrogate every aspect of our business with the goal of becoming as green as we can possibly be to protect our planet for future generations. We’ll be keeping this page updated as we go and openly discuss the wins, the setbacks and the difficult roadblocks.
From farm to cup
Our teas are bought direct, and never at auction, enabling us to cut out a link of the chain and give more to the deserved small farmers who work hard to organically grow all our teas.
Facts on organic
To achieve such superior flavour and maximise the tea’s antioxidant packed health benefits, our farmers steer clear of chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides. Our chosen farms have a wealth of expertise and work hard all year round with the soil, changing seasons, pests and weeds – allowing them to cultivate the largest and strongest yields of tea without a chemical fertilizer or pesticide in sight.
Supporting our farmers
We believe the best tea comes from happy farmers and know that driving down prices drives down quality, productivity and passion for the product. This is much more important than a nice-cuppa story for us to tell, it ensures that the business model for every partner in the supply chain is economically sustainable and future proofed.
